It's not the first time that I tried to work in coffee shops. My 'coffice' search started (and failed) in 2012. There weren't many coffee shops in Bulacan back then, and freelancing was unheard of. It was difficult to find a coffee shop that welcomed remote workers. Fast forward to 2016. Entrepreneur Philippines now features freelancing/freelancers in its articles regularly. Independent contractors come up on Facebook from time to time to share their stories and excitement for the entire world to read. We're no longer unheard of. We're now a community that sparks interest from people looking for jobs or looking into the option of starting a service-based business from home. I started this blog as Relaxed Wahmmy. Prior to setting up and writing on this blog; I have already written about my journey as a freelancer and my life as a mother on my other blogs. Blogging has always been a passion project-- one I do for myself. I expect no monetary return from it, but it still managed to bring me freebies (movie tickets, products, limited edition items). This blog is a blessing. I have always believed that my writing abilities are God's gift. He taught me how to write to help me travel through life. I have started writing in grade school, continued through high school, college, and to this day. Happy Freelancing are words I use a lot. You'll see them on my blog posts, social media profiles and on my email signature. These words mean so much to me, and they can have meaning to you, too. Prior to claiming Relaxed Wahmmy's brand; Happy Freelancing was there providing me motivation to stay happy at work even during the toughest of times. Freelancing ain't easy, but I try my best to embrace it through thick and thin. It is my bread and butter, after all. I have to live it. I have to love it. Like the Million Peso question! I've already used this title in a blog post to enlighten people of the realities of freelancing. Now, I'm going to use it again; not to 'scare' people away from freelancing, but to invite them to dive in and experience the future of work. I've read in a self-help book that writers write about things they need to learn themselves. Case in point; I am writing Relaxed Wahmmy because (1) I need to learn to relax and (2) I need to relearn how to become a WAHM. I am a Relaxed Wahmmy not because I am perfectly in control of my emotions, but because I sometimes am, and I try to be when I'm not. I am a work in progress. The roots of Relaxed Wahmmy can be traced back in 2009 when I first began to freelance and when I became a mother. I became both a freelancer and a parent without preparation. Bunch and I were both very young. We both don't have stable jobs. Bunch worked in Video City. I, on the other hand, had to resign from my job as a call center agent because graveyard shift wasn't healthy for my pregnancy. Our income was far from ideal for a couple starting a family.
