YouTube: Executive Assistant #virtualassistantph Interview #wfhlife #freelancingtips
Your first problem as an aspiring VA freelancer is how to land a client. Then, next you realize, as an experienced freelancer, that you no longer enjoy making or receiving calls because that’s practically what you did as a call center agent prior to joining the #wfhfreelancingph movement. Finally, you get ideas as a seasoned freelancer, and decided you would like to act on them.
WHAT’S SUCH JOURNEY LIKE?
Allow me to share mine.
DO. To get started as a VA Freelancer, you need to decide what service/s to offer. Sit down and figure out skills you acquired from school or work that are marketable online. Capitalize on them. We will publish square graphic posts containing actionable steps you can take in the next 10 days to begin DOing as a VA Freelancer.
Oh, yes. Put in a way that makes you realize you are reading text from a social media manager!
AS SHOWN ON VIDEO: I DO Social Media Copywriting & Maintenance/Management, and Executive Assistance.
THRIVE. The way to thrive in the freelancing industry is to stay engaged, to keep at it. How? You decide it’s something you’d like to keep doing. You make it fun when it no longer is. You upskill to earn more. You reflect, figure out, and decide what else you’d like to do as a VA Freelancer. The service offer you started with don’t need to be your end game. If you’re happy with it, then that’s ok, too. Reality, however, is opportunities may come to you, and it’s just unwise to say NO to new experiences and/or more $.
I started freelancing as a writer. I also took on several calling jobs when I started because of my background as a call center agent. Eventually, my core skills were met with opportunities, and my freelance projects exposed me to VA and social media management work. My roles evolved, and it’s what allowed me to THRIVE in the business even during dry spells when constant stream of income from freelancing was hard to come by.
AS SHOWN ON VIDEO: This is how core skills can meet opportunities just like that. Exploring to do more to be more is to THRIVE in this business.
GROW. In 2012, I started Happy Freelancing as I got increased requests to find Value Service Providers (VSP) for my clients’ writing, telemarketing, graphic design, video editing, and social media management needs. These are one-off projects I got to manage on the side, but it showed me a way to GROW my freelance practice.
Unlike climbing up a corporate ladder, you decide what growth will look like for you as a VA Freelancer. You can become a Coach and train VAs like what a good friend of mine did. You can offer outsourcing solutions to business owners, entrepreneurs, and executives. Build a Social Media Agency! I can only speak from experience, so don’t limit yourself with these options and again explore.
AS SHOWN ON VIDEO: Client asked several questions about how Happy Freelancing works. Let the world know what you do, so opportunities come to you!
Finally, offer value to receive value. Being helpful never goes out of style. When you go above and beyond, that’s also how you find your USP.
