OPPO F1s: Valentine’s Dream Date

Before I talk about my Valentine's Dream Date, I'd love to first give you a bit background about who I am and what I do. Who I am can easily be summed up in 4 letters: W-A-H-M. I am a Work-At-Home-Mom doing various freelance writing, admin, social media and design work for clients abroad. I have been in the business for many years. Haven't looked back to my also fun call center life since.

I have no regrets about choosing to be home all the time. After all, I am an introvert. I don't really enjoy being in a crowd. They can be overwhelming to me. I also have a 7 year old daughter, and I'm just really thankful I am present in her life and I get to watch her grow up into a happy, beautiful girl each day. I understand this is a privilege not many moms get to enjoy. I love my WAHM  life!

I'm going to say this over and over again— I live to be a good mother and homemaker. I believe this is God's purpose for my life. Freelancing helps me achieve this. Working from home allows me to spend tremendous amount of quality time with my kid and partner. It's like being on vacation all the time!

I won't be honest if I'll say that being home doesn't bore me— it does! I have those days when I miss girlfriends, social life, dining out, etc. I tried working in coffeeshops but eventually got tired of the commute and schedule. I also felt guilty about spending less time with Bunch and Isha (my partner and daughter) so I decided to go back to working from home and improved my home office so I won't miss going out so much. At the moment, I get to go out once or twice a week with family or on my own, and it's working for me! I guess a day or two is enough to renew/re-energize from a week of focused work and homemaking duties.

Another thing that I enjoy doing that makes working from home fun is cooking special meals for my family! I love taking #foodporn pictures! There's something about preparing food for my family that makes me feel accomplished and happy.

I do all these everyday. I wear many in hats in the same space. I am a freelancer, a mother, a life partner and a homemaker. I am happy. I am not complaining. Doesn't mean I don't want anything though!

This Valentine's Day, my dream date is an staycation in a fancy hotel here in Tuguegarao City. We've already done this twice last year, and all of us enjoyed each time. The reason I want an staycation is #selflove. Oh, yes! On Heart's Day I want to love ME.

I want to sleep in a comfy bed with white fluffy sheets. I want breakfast in bed. *I need whole body massage*. I want a few hours at the salon to get my nails done. I want to run at the oval in Cagayan Sports Complex. I want to eat meals I CAN'T cook at home. I want to take pictures, pictures, pictures! Imagine how fun that day will be. And I'll record each move. Each smile. Each new experience. Then, I'll be back to our hotel room before dinner where Bunch awaits *kilig* with Isha. They, too; enjoyed activities I planned for them. Maybe a swim for my little girl and body massage for his Dada who lovingly took care of our daughter without complain while I was away. Like he does for me everyday.

Together over dinner, we'll look at the selfies I took that day. No filter. Just pure, renewed smile of a hardworking momma. A good camera phone built for selfie like OPPO F1s should be enough to capture the beauty #selflove and #selfcare was able to bring out in me. And then we'll ask the waiter to take a picture of us. Together again before we head home to our real love nest.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Recipe: Sinigang Na Buto-Buto ng Baka

A few days ago, we went to SM Marilao Hypermarket to buy chicken and cook Tinolang Manok. Everything had been planned for lunch, but when we saw the lot of Buto-Buto ng Baka on sale; we decided to give it a try and cook Sinigang  na Baka.  Sinigang is a favorite in our family (in many Filipino families, actually). My Nanay cooks the best Sinigang na Baboy and Baka. For Sinigang na Baka; she buys from her suki in Meycauayan Market, where she only pays for the beef strips and gets its fat free of charge. Her Sinigang is tasty and sinfully delicious; we're like in Tokyo Tokyo whenever it is our ulam (Unli rice!) My Sinigang na Buto-Buto ng Baka is no match compared to her's, but it turned out very good, too. Buto-Buto is flavorful and is perfect match to my Sinigang's thick sour soup. I'm proud to have cooked it a couple times and to have succeeded each time (which is not always the case, believe me!). Below are the ingredients and recipe for Sinigang na Buto-Bu...
