Korni talaga ako, but my YouTube dream is forcing me to create catchy captions. Haha! Your resident WAHM is back to blog here and vlog on my YouTube channel (Relaxed Wahmmy). Yes, I am not yet done exhausting EVERY opportunity to earn a living from home; only this time, what I seek is passive income from my passion projects. Tall order? Not really. I know from experience that it is doable. In fact, I've already made one of my heart's deepest desires come true in the last few months: I grew my freelance agency Happy Freelancing— yay! From solo to partnership with Bunch to hiring Social Media Assistants, Writers, Graphic Designers, and Video Editors on as needed basis; we now have a Writer, six Telemarketers, and a Social Media Assistant! All of them hired for long-term contracts. Also meeting with our HR consultant in a few days! So, nah. That ain't tall order. It just means I gotta work harder! Before I talk about my Valentine's Dream Date, I'd love to first give you a bit background about who I am and what I do. Who I am can easily be summed up in 4 letters: W-A-H-M. I am a Work-At-Home-Mom doing various freelance writing, admin, social media and design work for clients abroad. I have been in the business for many years. Haven't looked back to my also fun call center life since. I have no regrets about choosing to be home all the time. After all, I am an introvert. I don't really enjoy being in a crowd. They can be overwhelming to me. I also have a 7 year old daughter, and I'm just really thankful I am present in her life and I get to watch her grow up into a happy, beautiful girl each day. I understand this is a privilege not many moms get to enjoy. I love my WAHM  life! I'm going to say this over and over again— I live to be a good mother and homemaker. I have been very busy with many things-- Bunch landed a new job and we have to adjust to the changes in our schedule and routines, Isha's beginning to learn a lot of things (and they're making me crazy!), lots of cleaning up to do around our new apartment and I'm studying Social Media for a couple of projects on the subject. It's not the first time that I tried to work in coffee shops. My 'coffice' search started (and failed) in 2012. There weren't many coffee shops in Bulacan back then, and freelancing was unheard of. It was difficult to find a coffee shop that welcomed remote workers. Fast forward to 2016. Entrepreneur Philippines now features freelancing/freelancers in its articles regularly. Independent contractors come up on Facebook from time to time to share their stories and excitement for the entire world to read. We're no longer unheard of. Money management is a skill I seek to develop as a freelancer/WAHM and homemaker. I believe it is essential in my overall self-improvement especially since most things in life require resources to 'happen'. As a freelancer, I want to pursue plans of growing my freelance business, Happy Freelancing, and this requires money capital to happen. As a WAHM, I desire to continue to be the hands-on parent(s) that Bunch and I have always tried to be, and this requires financial support to Isha's dreams and activities. As a homemaker, I need to invest on tools and resources to help with housechores for effective time management and work-life balance. I started this blog as Relaxed Wahmmy. Prior to setting up and writing on this blog; I have already written about my journey as a freelancer and my life as a mother on my other blogs. Blogging has always been a passion project-- one I do for myself. I expect no monetary return from it, but it still managed to bring me freebies (movie tickets, products, limited edition items). This blog is a blessing. I have always believed that my writing abilities are God's gift. He taught me how to write to help me travel through life. I have started writing in grade school, continued through high school, college, and to this day. I have won a few contests, contributed to school publications and earned money through my writing skills. Writing case studies and projects of friends helped support costs of studying in college. A couple of months ago, we tried to make our own Gourmet Tuyo in an effort to make filleted tuyo readily available for breakfast. Our little lady loves tuyo, but it is time consuming to fillet it for her while we are eating. We looked for Gourmet Tuyo in supermarkets in Bulacan, but found none; we thought that by making our own, we'll be addressing our need and may even be able to start a business out of it. Unfortunately, we find the cost of making Gourmet Tuyo expensive; it leaves no room for profit unless we will be willing to sell it at 25% mark up (even then, it will still be quite expensive).
